If you’re craving cookies but haven’t found a Girl Scout to buy from, the Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas has some alternative ordering solutions.
GSNETX has launched a Girl Scout Cookie Finder that allows users to input their zip code to be connected with a scout. It shows scouts selling in-person at a booth, online or find them shipped to your door, according to an email sent to The Herald from a GSNETX representative this week.
It also reminds those interested that cookies don’t have be purchased for consumption. The Girl Scouts also offer a Community Cookie program. Those interested can purchase cookies that will be delivered to heroes – military personnel, first responders and essential workers – at the end of the cookie season.
Some locations may also offer cookie delivery via GrubHub (www.grubhub.com/food/girl_scouts).
Local troop leader and Hale County Service Unit Cookie Chair Crystal Rushin told The Herald last month that there’s a new cookie flavor this year. The scouts introduced the Toast-Ya cookie, inspired by French toast, with a maple-flavored icing.
Scouts are also selling traditional favorites, like the Caramel deLites, Peanut Butter Patties and Lemonades, to name a few. This is also the last year for the S’mores cookie sales.
Each box is $5. The gluten-free Caramel Chocolate Chip flavor cookie is $6 per box.
